At this point, I think that anything is on the table. They may just "take the money and run".

Will Governing Body stop preaching work?
by neat blue dog inat this year's annual meeting (2016), david "mark" sanderson asks the audience the question, "are you determined to keep on preaching with us until we say the work is completed?
" to which they respond with applause.
do you think that stopping the preaching work will ever be a part of the gb's long range plan?

Do any of the governing body of JWs exercise their conscience?
by Half banana inthe members of the governing body, by being at the reins of a large corporation, must be confronted with situations which force them to think about the validity of their doctrines.. the australian royal commission hearing must have highlighted for the gb, especially jackson, the rational inconsistency of using an iron age dictum of "two witnesses" in a world which has moved beyond such rough justice.
today we have a scientific approach, we examine forensically, we have psychologists who can tell us about individual's minds and behaviour.
today, children's voices are not ignored.. the first and last resort of jws and their leaders is the doctrine of the "inerrancy of the bible".

Quite frankly, I don't believe that they believe any of it. They have demonstrated time and time again that they do not have a conscience. As such, they have no problem looking the other way and living the good life. Ray Franz was the only one who had enough balls to come out and say that it was all a farce. None of the current members would voluntarily "quit" now.

Elder wants to stop by with the CO for a visit .
by NikL inso i got a text from an elder who i consider one of the good guys and a friend in his own way.. he asked if he could bring the co by for a visit.
he said it would be "just a pleasant call and visit and will hopefully encourage my wife".
he says that "he knows she is dealing with a ton of pressure".. in all my years around the organization, i never had a visit from the circuit overseer.

If your wife wants to see them, have them meet her at McDonald's.

If they are just coming over for your wife, then why do you have to be there? It sounds to me that they already moved on from you.

Have any ex-jws considered joining the Bible Students?
by Rainbow_Troll intheir fundamental beliefs are much like jehovah's witnesses sans the paranoia, authoritarianism, stifling rules, and end-times enthusiasm.
you don't even have to become a bible student to be saved, you could be an idol worshipping heathen and still get resurrected in the milenium.
if i still believed in the divine inspiration of the scriptures, i would be a bible student.

"As a JW I was taught that the JWs are the Bible Students, having just changed their names for some odd reason. It was only later that I discovered that the JWs are the true apostates, Rutherford having changed the name to JW after the original Bible Students objected to his coup de tat of the WTBTS (which was really just a publishing company at the time) as well as his very wacky, paranoid, anti-semetic ideas. Rutherford knew that his new religion was radically different from Russell's teaching, so he actually did the honest thing and gave it a new name."
That is an excellent point Rainbow_Troll. Growing up, I thought that the Bible Students as a whole changed their name to Jehovah's Witnesses. I didn't realize that a group broke off from the Bible Students to become the witnesses and that the Bible Students are still around.
How many witnesses today know that?

Did you ever experience true kindness in the Org?
by HereIgo ini remember when i was about 17, i started shunning an older brother because he was disfellowshipped.
when i graduated high school, he pulled me aside and said " i know you are not supposed to talk to me, but i want you to have this" it was a gift that he had custom made for me.
i was so blown away, we never even had a real conversation before.

I would like to think that I experienced true kindness. But looking back on it now, it was probably conditional kindness as opposed to true kindness.
